I have finished my second block on the Matilda Station quilt. It is Block 4 - The Welcoming Committee. It was a lot of little bits and oodles of ends to stitch in but I am well pleased with the end product.

Verandah Views

I have had a lurgy that made me cough and splutter and use too many tissues! Yuck!

Anyway - I'm mostly over it now and have managed to complete two of the Verandah Views blocks.

Under the Willow and Bathtime.

I have also been crocheting some hexagons while watching the tv. Having fun!

Stitcher's Studio Stocking update

I worked this week on the Studio stocking and got a reasonable amount done. Did the wreath and the quilt section. Also added the second frame but the contents are stitched over 1 thread so that needs more focus than I have just now. Maybe next time it comes on rotation.

This week I will be working on the Teddy paper doll. And on the next Matilda Station block. And some crochet hexagons. Yes. Well. Hopefully!

Chooks in a row

I have the first of the Matilda Station quilt blocks done. It is Block 9 - Free Range Chooks.

I have had the kit put away for ages, having bought it as a block-of-the-month program a few years ago. It is only since I read a tutorial on using fusible backing that I decided to tackle the quilt. Usually I hand applique but the pieces are quite big in this quilt and I wanted something different.

Stitching Finish

I have finished the Fairy Tale Sampler. It feels good to have a finished piece again. There has been a very long stitching drought. I'm so glad it seems to be over.

If anyone is looking closely - I changed the bottom band somewhat. I just couldn't get the published piece to work so I did my own thing.

Finished is better than perfect!

And now I have put three pieces into my cross stitch rotation - just to mix it up a bit.

Christmas stockings for me and DH. Both from the old Cross Stitch and Country Craft magazines. I think they are now available in book form and called Heirloom Stockings.My stocking is the Stitcher's Studio and DH's one is the Holiday Workshop.

Finally finished the cat quilt. I wanted to get maximum impact from all the cat fabrics without getting too complicated. Sometimes simple is best. Machine quilted. Not sure about machine quilting yet. The effect is what I wanted but it is a lot of machine work - obviously. Not my favorite thing. Anyway - it is done and on the bed.

The cat was involved right from the start!

Oh Woe! Snow!

We don't get much snow in this little corner of the world. Usually there is a cry of - "Look, quick , it's snowing! - Oh oops - you missed it!"

But not today.
